CSKA gets revenge win

CSKA and Lokomotiv played two games in a week. In the return match in Yaroslavl, the CSKA players were determined to take revenge for the home defeat (1:2). From the first minutes, it was a double-edged hockey, in which the CSKA players succeeded at first. Less than three minutes later, Pavel Karnaukhov opened the score in the match — 0:1. Then CSKA got a two-minute power play, but it did not work out. The hosts regrouped and soon organized a return goal. Maxim Shalunov won the throw—in, Artur Kayumov whipped a one-timer - 1:1. With such a score, the first period ended.

In the second, the CSKA players got the power play at the very start. Sergey Andronov was dismissed for two minutes. Alas, even this attempt failed to be implemented. Throughout the second period, the teams fought for the initiative. In some segments, Lokomotiv was stronger, then CSKA intercepted the course of the meeting. Exactly two minutes before the end of the second period, Maxim Sorkin said his word. The attack, ideal in geometry, ended with an accurate shot of a CSKA attacker — 1:2.

In the third period, the hosts staged a real assault on the goals of CSKA, but could not achieve success. Ivan Fedotov deflected 32 shots. We are taking away a very important victory in psychological terms!
