CSKA-2013 will play in the Russian Championship

On April 12, CSKA and Spartak teams born in 2013 took to the ice in the third game of the final playoff series of the Moscow Championship. The first two games ended in favor of the Army men (7:3, 5:0). There was only one victory left to qualify for the Russian Championship.

The match was not easy, although in the third minute Ivan Ivanov's pupils opened the scoring. Dmitry Ekimov and Ilya Vetkin played the puck to each other, and then Dmitry finished the job with a goal. However, in the ninth minute, Spartak had a power play opportunity and later evened the score. The Army men didn't relax for a second and tried to keep the puck in the opponent's zone. In the 13th minute, Andrei Kachalov managed to flick the puck over the goalie, making the score 2-1. CSKA went into the first break with a slight advantage.

The second twenty minutes started briskly. Ilya Vetkin increased the lead, but the numbers on the scoreboard quickly changed again, as the visitors scored one goal. In the 34th minute, Spartak evened the score for the second time in the game. Tensions were rising. The Army team played well on two shorthanded power plays, and 30 seconds before the end of the period, they got a numerical advantage themselves. CSKA settled into their positions and played the puck inside the blue line for a long time. Seven seconds before the end of the period, Andrei Kachalov put his stick in and redirected the puck into the goal, netting a double.

In the second minute of the third period, Dmitry Ekimov made the score 5-3 with an accurate shot under the crossbar. For the remaining 18 minutes, Spartak tried to press, but the Army team played well.
