Roman Korolev: Our guys gave a solid performance at the Sirius Cup

CSKA-2010 coach Roman Korolev summed up the results of the Sirius Cup where several graduates of the army hockey school showed up: Roman Andreev, Nikita Sinikin, Bogdan Bezukhov, Daniil Pavlenin, Ivan Sokolov, Artem Voronov, and Mikhail Makeev. Korolev himself led the Russian team (whites) that took first place.

— It was a training camp for candidates for the Russian U-16 national team. We sized up all the guys. There was a lot of theory and training, you know, analyzing a training session, the main aspects of the game in attack and defense. So, we mastered the boys for more adult, youth hockey.

The tournament ran well. Our guys gave a solid performance, and a lot went the right way. And for sure, something did well and something did not. So, we have what to work on and tune-up before the season.

A call-up to the Russian national team is a great push and emotional boost for both the athletes and the coach.
