Mikhail Deev, head coach of the 2009 CSKA Moscow team, summed up the victorious Russian Championship final that took place today.
"As often happens, the most important matches are very difficult. Today was no exception. This was the last game for the 2009 CSKA Moscow team. We knew the whole country was watching us. The guys did a great job, they did great. In the locker room, I thanked each of them for this journey. These were incredible emotions, which, on the one hand, made me feel older, and on the other, these are emotions I will remember for the rest of my life. I also want to thank the management of the CSKA hockey club, starting with the director of our Hockey School, Kirill Sergeyevich Pafifov; CSKA Sporting Director Denis Valerievich Denisov, who has always been passionate about our team and helped us develop; and, of course, our president, Igor Vyacheslavovich Esmantovich." Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with such guys and providing them with everything they needed to develop. It was a journey that no one else will likely be able to replicate. We're glad everyone was a part of it. I'd like to thank my wife, my parents, and all the coaches who were there throughout our team's development.
