We beat the SKA again, doubling our series lead

The CSKA entered the second game of the playoff series with practically the same lineup as in the first. Only Tahir Mingachyov returned to the roster, while Alexey Churkin was off. Dmitry Gamzin was again in goal.

In the first minute our had a tough start of penalty killing, and defended well, but the visitors still managed to find their moment. Joseph Blandisi, who missed the previous game, opened the scoring. This did not confuse the CSKA players, and they began to put their plan for the match into action. The pressure on SKA's goal was increasing, several dangerous moments were created, the most advantageous of which was Denis Guryanov, who shot almost point-blank from the crease. But the opposing goalkeeper saved his team. However, the army team managed to score before the break, which was the logical outcome of the twenty minutes. Pavel Karnaukhov picked up the puck in front of the goal and sent it into the goal. We took the lead midway of the second period. Nikolai Kovalenko corralled the puck in the center and dished opened Denis Guryanov. The SKA goalie blocked the first shot, but was unable to handle Denis's follow-up. After this, our team's edge in the game only grew, and the opponent could no longer withstand the blow. The third goal from the slot was scored by Takhir Mingachyov, and he, like Guryanov, was able to finish off his own shot. Then Dmitry Buchelnikov pulled off a beautiful performance, making a solo run through the opponent's defense. Byt the SKA didn't give up and scored one goal in the end, with six players on the field. But this didn't tie the outcome. With the series score 2-0, we head to St. Petersburg.
