Losing in Magnitogorsk

From the start of the match, CSKA tried to gain initiative. Konstantin Okulov had a good chance to distinguish himself in one of the very first attacks. Adam Reideborn had job to do, as well, helping out the team. The fans saw no goals for just over nineteen minutes. Alas, the score was opened by the hosts: 42 seconds before the end of the period Denis Zernov ambushed a redirect from the post and sent the puck into an empty goal cage, resulting in 1:0 after the first period for Metallurg.

The break did good to the CSKA team. Less than two minutes after the start of the period, Klasson shot the puck from the blue line, and Konstantin Okulov corrected the puck making the score 1:1. Then the teams continued to play on opposite courses. It was dangerous at the CSKA's goal cage when playing shorthanded — the SKA team received a team penalty for six field players.
The hosts did not take advantage of it, and Sergey Fedorov's team continued going north. Sergey Plotnikov, Pavel Karnaukhov and Mikhail Grigorenko had several excellent approaches. That was why the second goal of the guests was not implied by their game, yet Arkhip Nekolenko sent the teams to a break with the remaining leadership of Metallurg.

In the third period, CSKA stormed the goal cage of Metallurg, but the score remained unchanged. Losing in Magnitogorsk.
