Metallurg opened the score early in the first period. But CSKA instantly answered with Pavel Karnaukhov's goal. Army team's defence was not as good as usual in this game, and until the end of the period Metallurg scored twice more.
In the second and third periods home team continued sending puck to the net, and CSKA tried to come back. Mario Kempe, Andrey Loktionov and Maxim Mamin were the scorers for CSKA, but it was not enough. CSKA allowed three more goals and lost 6-4, ending their winning streak. Despite this loss, CSKA still holds first place of the Wetern conference.
