In the Game 5 CSKA couldn't open up Avangard's defence. The next match was pretty similar. CSKA was very active, tried to controll the puck and made more shots. But Avangard was very accurate in the defence and blocked a lot of shots. At the end of the first period the home team found the chance to score - Kaski assisted former CSKA player Sergei Tolchinsky, who opene the score.
After Avangard got one-goal advantage, team concentrated on the defence, and CSKA didn't have many chances to fire back. Mat Robinson had a great moment to score, but the puck hit the crossbar. In the third period CSKA had 5 on 3 power play but even this situation didn't lead to a goal. Avangard secured the win and became the 2021 Gagarin Cup winner. CSKA finished second.
