Contrary to the expectations of the CSKA fans, the match began with a quick goal by the hosts. In the second minute, the red and white fell out "two in one" at the goal of CSKA: Adam Reideborn coped with the first throw, but Kirill Kozhevnikov was accurate at finishing. The CSKA team got a real chance to even the score in the middle of the first period. At first, Maxim Krovyakov received two minutes for a delay with a stick, and as soon as the young striker returned to the ice, his partner, Artem Serikov, already left. CSKA could not take advantage of such a gift from an opponent, and then it was close to missing again. The second period started perfectly for CSKA. The CSKA team closed the hosts in the zone, and after a cool transfer by Andrei Svetlakov from behind the goal, Vitaly Abramov got over Krasikov's shoulder! Less than two minutes have passed, and CSKA has already come forward through the efforts of Pavel Karnaukhov. But then an accident brought equality to the scoreboard, after a series of ricochets, the puck went into the Reideborn goal — 2:2. This annoying goal did not break CSKA.
