Semyon Pankratov: father sat on the podium, I dedicated a goal to him

The CSKA striker spoke about his debut goal for CSKA and summed up the results of the meeting with his former team.

- We were preparing for the game. The Moscow derby has always been an interesting game. They took the lead, then a little bit somewhere in the second period they missed their game. As regards the third period, they added zest to the game. We lost on shootouts. No harm done, let's move on. There will be new victories.

- How important is it to score against Dynamo? Perhaps even more important than the first goal in the CHL?

- It would be nicer, if the team won. Yes, he scored a goal for the former team, it’s nice. But the result - defeat - blurs the impression.

-Were you ready for a shootout?

- Of course. I’m always ready. If the coaching staff trusts, then I will go out, I will try.

- Will you remember how you were leaving Dynamo? Kudashov said that they watched you, but decided to bet on young guys.

- I think there is no negative. This is a coaching decision. He has his own vision: no negativity. Everything is fine.

- Did you have any thoughts before the game, that it would be cool to score today?

- There were thoughts of winning. I wanted to score, it’s nice, but the most important thing is to win. You can score, but if we lose, it blurs everything.

- What about the gesture did you show after the goal, thumbs up?

- Father was sitting on the podium, it was an appeal to him. I dedicated a goal to him.

- After the scored goal, there was little playing time. What about your thoughts in such situations?

- It may have been a little offensive. But this is a coaching decision, I trust him. Many majorities and minorities have already gone there. This immediately cuts off the playing time for us. I missed the shift, maybe in the end the guys looked fresher.

- Everyone is now discussing the decision of Sergei Fedorov to remove the goalkeeper in overtime. He said that this plus or minus was discussed. Were you ready for this, did you hear about it before the game, at the rolling out?
- I’m glad that it happened. It adds to the entertainment, it was interesting. We had the advantage to score a goal. Although in the end we were lucky that Galimov did not hit. I think the coaching staff discussed this with the majority brigade. I heard about it sitting on the bench, probably a couple of minutes before it happened.

- Do you know the weak points of Bocharov?

-I can't say, every goalkeeper has strengths and weaknesses. I will not reveal his secrets. What for? We are on good terms. Let those, who want to score, look for these weak points themselves.

- It turns out that you found ones, scored from an acute angle.

- I decided to shoot at the goal. I think that his view was well closed, and the corner was open. Somewhat, I was lucky that I scored that way.

- Did Bocharov somehow react after the goal? Or maybe he said something after the match?

- No. But after the game, we’ll talk now.

- Was Fedotov's visibility closed?

- Rashevsky found this point there. I think he threw for luck, but this throw paid off. These things happen. It’s OK. We found the strength to score another goal and thus leveled the game.
