Statistics.

In the fifth match of the series, CSKA needed only a victory. Yaroslavl team achieved three wins in a row and put CSKA on the brink of elimination. Alas, from the first minutes CSKA failed to organize an onslaught. On the contrary, the hosts took to the ice with great desire and closed CSKA in the zone. Lokomotiv was great at pocketing chances. From the sixth to the tenth minute, Yaroslavl scored three goals at once. Alexander Polunin, Alexander Yelesin and Andrey Sergeev scored 3:0. A start that definitely could not suit CSKA. Mikhail Grigorenko began to save a difficult situation in the first period. CSKA corrected Vladislav Provolnev's shot from the blue line — 3:1. Less than two minutes later, another CSKA goal happened. The author of the goal was Vladislav Kamenev from Konstantin Okulov's pass — 3:2. The turning point was a few seconds before the end of the opening period, when the hosts scored the fourth goal.

There was no fight in the second period. Yaroslavl increased their advantage to a comfortable one by scoring two goals. Ivan Chekhov and Maxim Shalunov scored. The score was 6-2 in favor of Lokomotiv, and CSKA had one period left to try to change the situation.

In the final period, it was not possible to return to the game. Only Nikita Nesterov's goal in the end put an end to it. Alas, the season for CSKA ended in the first round of the playoffs.
