Fourth win in a row

CSKA and Torpedo played their second game in a week, this time in Moscow. Forward Ruslan Iskhakov appeared in our team's starting lineup after several games of absence, and Rourke Chartier did not play today. Instead of Colby Williams, who was absent, Nikolai Makarov, who was called up from Zvezda, was named the seventh defenseman.

The match started poorly for CSKA. In the first minute, the Army team was left in the minority, which Nizhny Novgorod realized. The visitors played aggressively, pressured the goalie, and gave an even battle. CSKA players created several chances in the first period, and one of them was realized. Nikita Sedov sent a pass from the wing to the slot, and after a ricochet, Denis Guryanov got to the puck and sent it into the goal. The second period our team played stronger and went into the breakaway by the score. Nikita Nesterov gave CSKA the lead when he joined the attack and blocked Egor Fateyev's pass to an empty corner. Just before the break, Nikita Sedov scored on a powerful and accurate long shot. “Torpedo” continued to fight to the last and even managed to win back one puck. At the beginning of the season, Nizhny Novgorod managed to come back from 1-3 down at CSKA Arena, and they were close to repeating it. But the Army Men defended competently in the end, and the game was sealed by Denis Guryanov's shot on the puck.
