Winning the Army derby

By the hundredth Army derby, several hockey players returned to the CSKA team at once. These are Pavel Karnaukhov, Konstantin Okulov and Maxim Mamin. The place in the fourth three of the attack was taken by newcomer Vladimir Bryukvin. Let us recall that the striker moved to the army club as a result of an exchange with the Omsk Avangard.

The first period was almost entirely dictated by the owners. This is evidenced by the statistics of shots on target — 10:2 in favor of SKA. Only the reliable play of Alexander Sharychenkov saved CSKA from missing a goal.

In the second period, the picture began to gradually improve. As before, SKA controlled the puck more, but CSKA also became sharper on counterattacks. One of these attacks led to the long-awaited score. Pavel Karnaukhov and Vladislav Kamenev ran away together against one defender. Kamenev ended the episode in favor of CSKA. The statistics of shots on target were adjusted — 10:11 now in favor of CSKA. The second period ended with a minimal advantage of Sergey Fedorov's team.

The third period began with the removal of Maxim Mamin, but CSKA had more chances in the minority. They didn't manage to pocket them, but the owners used their chance — Zykov equalized 1:1. For a long time the score remained equal, but two minutes before the end of the third period Pavel Karnaukhov put CSKA ahead. 2:1 — victory in the Army derby.
