The second game of the first round series started with a quick CSKA goal. Pavel Karnaukhov scored on 00:12, but Spartak head coach took a challenge, and a goal was canceled due to an offside. The first period eventually was goalless, but then things became more interesting.
At the start of the second period CSKA scored in the power play. After a Matt Robinson's shot the puck found the net with a ricochet from Andrei Loktionov. In the end of the period Spartak responded with their own power play goal. But before the break CSKA took a lead once more. Klas Dahlback scored the goal.
In the third period Spartak made too many mistakes in the defence, and CSKA was merciless. Army men scored thrice - Maxim Shalunov, Brendan Leipsic and Maxim Mamin made three accurate shots. CSKA wins 5:1 and takes a 2-0 lead in the series.
