The last Army derby of the KHL regular season took place at CSKA Arena. Maxim Mamin returned to our team, taking a place in the lineup with Pavel Karnaukhov and Egor Fateyev. Pavel Khomchenko defended the goal.
The match started well for our team. Maxim Sorkin played on the rebound on the rush after a shot by Nikita Sedov. Unfortunately, the game was affected by penalties. CSKA conceded two penalties in the period. But our guys managed to get back on the board quickly. Prokhor Poltapov made a beautiful solo pass, a bit reminiscent of the goal against Ak Bars in the final series of the Gagarin Cup-2023. SKA took an offside call before taking the goal, but the referees upheld the goal. With the score at 2-2, the game remained tense and interesting, but the goals came to an end. Several times the goalies saved the game, the minority special teams played better than the majority teams. That's how it came down to overtime. CSKA went into it with a majority, but it wasn't realized. Soon the author of the decisive shot was a SKA player. Today we scored one point.
