From the first minutes Neftekhimik players ran forward, loading the gate of Ivan Fedotov. However, most of the shots went past the goal. At the end of the period, CSKA led 11:5 on shots on target, but were inferior in the score. Nail Yakupov's accurate and powerful shot put the guests ahead — 0:1. Until the end of the game, CSKA created a series of dangerous moments, but the guests left for a break as the leaders of the match.
