Anton Slepyshev: we believed until the end that there would be chances to level the score and win

The CSKA forward commented on the strong-willed victory in the derby.

- It was a hard match, as we anticipated. There were moments in the first two periods, but the implementation of attacks failed. We were losing in the long run, but until the end we believed that there would be chances to equalize the score and win the fight.

- Regarding the moment with the second removal of Karnaukhov, who broke the rules in the end?

- O’Dell stepped on the club there himself, I believe. And Pashka was just standing there. He did not understand what had happened, he did not touch him at all. O’Dell stepped on my club, I thought that removal would be given to me.

- What extent is it risky to remove a goalkeeper in overtime?

- The risk is always present, and the puck can bounce and there is pressure exerted by the defenders. But we are analyzing such nuances that the pass must go through one hundred percent, that the puck must be held, and so that we do not go into an adventurous stickhandling. And then we can play too much. But it is clear that there is a risk, but the fans are still interested in the regular season – the game won or lost in overtime. You play three for three with the same risk.

- It may seem that Nesterov made a little adventurous and hasty shot when he scored a goal?

- I stick to a different opinion, the player was in front of the goal and the goalkeeper did not see the puck. It seems to me that he threw in a sighted manner.
