CSKA lost Game 6, ends the season

CSKA came into the sixth game of the series with some forced changes. Egor Fateyev and Kirill Dolzhenkov were unable to play and were replaced by Stanislav Galiev and Rourke Chartier. Oleg Maistrenko, captain of the Army youth team, was also named the 13th forward. Ivan Prosvetov again defended the goal.

From the very beginning the game was equal and combative. Neither team had a clear advantage, the chances were mutual. The visitors were the first to strike, opening the scoring after an accurate shot by Nicholas Melosh. But at the end of the period, the Army team responded with an accurate shot by Maxim Sorkin, who perfectly hit an open corner from mid-range. The Dynamo took the lead again in the second period. CSKA had a power play, but both attempts were unsuccessful. There was still hope for a comeback, and it seemed quite possible. But things didn't go our way in the third period. The opponent scored quickly and increased the lead. An important moment when the score was 1:3 was the episode when the referee, after a request from our coach, canceled the goalie's blocking and scored a goal. But the joy was short-lived, the decision was not approved, and the Army team got two more minutes for time stoppage in addition to the violation of the rules on the goalie. They couldn't resist the 3-on-5 format, and the score became 1:4. After that, it was hard to save themselves. The Army team fought to the end, and got one goal back, a power-play goal by Vladislav Provolnev. But two Dynamo goals into empty net set the final score.

This is the end of the 2024/25 season for our team.
