Sergey Fyodorov: I didn't think that 100 matches pass so quickly

The head coach of CSKA summed up the results of the game with Vityaz.

Sergey Fyodorov, head coach of CSKA:

— I think it was a very good, equal game. In the first period we played a little bit better than the opponent. In the second period, Vityaz increased its speed. We didn't get the puck out, we played in our zone a little more than we needed to. In the third period, we managed to create scoring chances, but, unfortunately, we scored only in the end. We led, played calmly, but made a mistake in our defense zone. The guys are great, they continued to play. This is a good experience for us. We will sort out the errors. The one who does not play is not mistaken. In overtime, I liked the concentration, attention — it brought us victory in the end.

— For you, this game was the 100th in your coaching career. What does it mean?

— I don't feel 100% like the head coach of the CSKA team yet. You seem to be on the bench, directing the process, but I think I'm more on the ice than on the bench. And we need to work on this, too. Still, you need to lead the team, be responsible for the guys — this implies a certain calmness. Probably, the first sensations are the joy of victory, the guys worked great, thank them very much. I didn't think that 100 matches pass so quickly, it's only been a year and a half. I am grateful for the trust of the fans, the whole squad, the staff, the service staff. I am glad that we managed to see the business through.
