CSKA legend and former team captain Sergei Andronov announced his retirement.
The 36-year-old forward spent 11 seasons at the club. Sergei holds the record for the most games for CSKA – 568. He won two Gagarin Cups, four Russian Championship titles and six Continental Cups. As part of the Russian national team, he won gold at the 2018 Olympic Games.
– I want to thank the entire management of CSKA for giving me the opportunity to touch the history of our hockey, of such a great club. And for trusting me to be the captain and leader of the team. I would like to especially thank Igor Nikitin and Dmitry Yushkevich, who had an exceptional influence on me as a player and as a person. I am very proud of what we managed to build at CSKA from 2016 to 2022: that team, that family, that team. Many later called it a dynasty, and perhaps that is correct. I thank all the fans I performed in front of. Thank you for being with us. I have developed friendly relationships with many people, especially with CSKA fans.
