CSKA captain Sergei Andronov told how he spends his vacation, shared his opinion about the Club's newcomers and named his main objective for the season.
– In the middle of May we went to the sea, and now most of the holidays are spent at home, I try to spend more time with my family. Now you can take up your hobbies. I go to play golf, I really like it.
– You spend 2.5 months without general training with the team, how to maintain your vigour and motivation, in order to return to intense loads later?
– We are professionals; everyone knows what he needs to do to return to his previous working form. The most important thing is not to abruptly stop training after the end of the season, and then also smoothly enter the work rhythm. I have already started to get ready in my usual mode. So far, these are mainly exercises in the gym.
– A week ago, the World Championship ended in Riga. Were you surprised by the victory of Canada, which brought an experimental squad to the tournament, and what our team lacked to win the quarterfinal?
– It doesn't matter in what lineup the Canadians were, the main thing for them is that they won the Championship. It's hard to say what our team lacked, being at home on the couch. One thing I am sure most certainly: there were no indifferent players in the national team.
– Konstantin Okulov and Mat Robinson entered the KHL symbolic representative team of the season. How would you rate the play of your teammates in the last Championship?
– I think that they showed an excellent result throughout the season and once again proved that they are high-level players, deservedly entering the symbolic six.
– New players came to CSKA: Reideborn, Svedberg, Nordström, Fedotov, Kiselyov. What can you say about these acquisitions?
– I would not like to evaluate them somehow, but I am sure that they are good and qualified hockey players, because they were included in the team for a reason.
– What is your main goal for yourself in the upcoming season?
– I want to win the Gagarin Cup!
