At the CSKA Arena, the Red Army edged Dynamo Moscow 4-3 in a preseason tune-up. All the summer pick-ups hit the ice, minus Alex Cotton. Samonov and Gamzin both shared the crease, and both tenders need some solid reps before the Mayor's Cup drops the puck on August 27th.
CSKA lit the lamp just two minutes in, with Dmitry Buchelnikov cashing in early. Dynamo fired back with a quick pair, including one buried by former Army boy Nikita Korostelyov. Prohor Poltapov quickly knotted it up, and it was a 2-2 game heading into the room. Poltaper caught fire and lit the lamp twice more to complete the hat trick. The visiting team scored a power-play goal. With a 4-3 final, the army team bagged the game and juiced keep grinding for the upcoming puck drop.
