Pavel Karnaukhov: My record would not have been achieved without my CSKA teammates

CSKA captain Pavel Karnaukhov shared his emotions about the record he set last season. Pavel surpassed Sergei Andronov's record for most games played for CSKA. Our captain now has 571 games played for the club's main team.

- This season marked a significant milestone in your career — setting the record for most games played for CSKA. How are you feeling about this achievement?

- I'd like to thank all the teammates I played with over the years at CSKA. Thank you to the coaches, management, and the administrative staff. Together with these people, we won three cups over the course of 10 years, even losing, and experiencing ups and downs. This record is partly theirs. This achievement also symbolizes the success of the CSKA Hockey School, which instills a strong CSKA spirit.

- Do you remember your first KHL game for CSKA?

- Of course. Ten years flew by. It was an away game in Yekaterinburg. I can't say I was nervous; my older teammates were encouraging me. CSKA has always been known for having a good group of like-minded players who work for the team's benefit.

- You surpassed the achievement of Sergei Andronov, with whom you played. Did you learn anything from him in terms of your game?

- Absolutely. Sergei and I still have good contacts and are friends. When I joined the team, he was one of the older players, and I was very well received. Again, this result would not have been possible without the teammates I met along the way.
