Nikolay Makarov: You need to grow, develop and work on yourself

The CSKA defender spoke about the summer vacation, the meaning of new tattoos, senior thesis defense and goals for the new season.

— Tell me, how did you spend your vacation and summer?

— I had a great vacation, rested. I went to Perm, spent time with my parents, family, and friends. Defended my senior thesis in college. I was at sea in Turkey, the rest of the time I was in Perm. Of course, I trained and prepared for the training camp.

— Was it hard to defend the senior thesis?

— No, it's easy. The topic was easy to come across — the development of high-speed qualities of a hockey player at the age of 13-14.

— You have a lot of new tattoos. What is depicted on them, why did you decide to change your image?

— I've been thinking about it for a long time, two years, probably. As for the main elements: a hockey helmet, my game number, a motivating inscription — "Always move forward".

— What are the feelings of meeting with teammates?

— Everything is fine! Physical condition and emotional state are at the highest level. It's always nice to come back from vacation, the atmosphere is cool, everyone is happy. We train with a good mood. There is no sadness at all from the fact that the weekend is over.

— Last season turned out to be a breakthrough. What do you expect from next season?

— The main thing is not to lower the bar. You need to grow, develop and work on yourself. The goal is always victory.
