Hockey club CSKA signed a two-year contract with forward Nikolai Kovalenko until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 25-year-old Kovalenko made his KHL debut in the 2017/18 season. He scored 158 points (62+96) in 304 KHL matches with Lokomotiv, Ak Bars and Torpedo having a +45 rating. Nikolai spent the 2024/25 season in North America. He scored 20 points (7+13) in 57 games with San Jose and Colorado. At the youth level, the forward won the Kharlamov Cup as with Lokomotiv.
