Mikhail Grigorenko: For the players, the seventh match is crazy stress

The CSKA striker summed up the results of the series with Lokomotiv.

— The score probably does not reflect what is happening on the ice. Lokomotiv played great. We scored good goals today, non-standard ones. The whole series we could not cope with Isaev, and today we finally found the key to him. Lokomotiv had a good series, there were 50-50 chances. Luck has favored us.

— For the first time in the history of the KHL, one team wins four seven-match series in a row. How are you feeling?

— We have already recovered after last year's two episodes (laughs). Probably not four, but now there are still two episodes. That's how we gather for the seventh games, we act for the team. Everyone understands what is at stake. I hope that we will be able to play like this not only for the seventh matches, but also starting from the first games of the series.

— Are the seventh games the best thing in hockey?

— I think so. Especially for the fans. For the players, the seventh match is crazy stress, of course. Before the game, there is nervousness in the morning on the game day. When you win such matches, of course, it's nice.

— If you had been said in the morning that you would win 5-0?

— I would probably laugh, to be honest. I can't believe it's 5:0. On throws, probably, the statistics are different. Lokomotiv had a territorial advantage. Adam played great today. Probably throughout the playoffs — he's our best player. Drags us at the right moments, we prepare further.

— What are the key factors of victory?

— Firstly, the home playground has affected. It's more pleasant to play the seventh match at home, the fans are driving forward. The family is in the stands. We converted our chances, I repeat that we have a very experienced team, it always affects.

— Isn't it a shame that Igor Nikitin couldn't pass the second round again?

— A difficult question. This is hockey, this is life. Everyone understands that they come out to win. There's nothing you can do about it.
