Lucas Wallmark became a CSKA player

A Swedish forward, whose rights were assigned to CSKA in the 2016 KHL draft, signed a one-year contract with the club.

In 2014, Lucas Wallmark was drafted by Carolina, with which he soon signed a three-year contract. In total in the NHL, the 25-year-old forward, who also played for Florida and Chicago, played 187 games and scored 59 points (23 goals, 36 assists). In addition, he played 112 games at Carolina's farm club Charlotte Checkers. In the AHL, the forward, with a powerful shot and good skating, scored almost a point per game: on his account there are 41 goals and 60 assists.

Wallmark became the fifth Swede on CSKA team and the second NHL forward to join the team this offseason. In early June, CSKA signed a contract with Joakim Nordström, a Stanley Cup winner and world champion in the Swedish national team, Calgary forward.

Previously, CSKA was joined by goalkeeper Adam Reideborn, who played for Ak Bars in the KHL, and defenseman Viktor Svedberg, who played for Barys. Klas Dahlbeck, who played more than 200 games for CSKA and won the Gagarin Cup with the team in the 2018-2019 season, will continue playing for the Army’s team.
