The KHL Board of Directors absentee voted on July 29 to amend the league regulations for the 2025/26 season.
Here are the legal changes:
• Goalies must play 200 games to become an unrestricted free agent and must be 28 years old.
• The “three-transfer” rule is expanded to include players who join a "new" club via waivers.
• The trade and roster deadline has been rescheduled from December 27 to January 25.
And here are the sports changes:
• The number of throws to name the winners of games during the regular season has been down from five to three.
