Ivan Fedotov: Everyone needs to start with themselves, look in the mirror

The CSKA goalkeeper answered journalists' questions.

— We make the same mistakes that lead us to defeats. Unpleasant aftertaste. We discuss it, we do an analysis, but time after time we are haunted by this black spot. I think everyone needs to start with themselves, look in the mirror and understand — how much does everyone do not to lose? We need to help, play more competently, help our partner. We struggle with goals, it does not add confidence — we need to feel the game. The leaders must carry this burden, no one but us. There will be no other support or assistance from outside.

— Konstantin Okulov has a shutout streak. What's wrong with him?

— Everyone trains well, that's the point. We work out, the desire is there, the intensity is there. There are some failures, but it is an integral part of hockey. We can't transfer all this to the game. Konstantin is doing a great job, he's trying. It is clear that now everyone is worried, the burden of responsibility is pressing. Our leaders are leaders for that, they should feel the scoring moment. It's hard to sort out in hot pursuit.

— A little bit about your game. How do you assess your readiness, are the percentages added?

— They are being added slowly. The main thing is to approach 100% in the playoffs. It is necessary to approach to it in combat, optimal shape. No one needs this peak form right now. The season is long, I want to spend it smoothly, but there are always ups and downs. Often those who spend it evenly — do not have enough strength for the playoffs. But this does not mean that you can play lazily. I feel comfortable, the coach is trusted. The atmosphere is ok, relations with Sergey Ivanovich Naumov are good, we work, I enjoy it. We have a good tandem with Alexandr Sharychenkov, a favorable background.

— In the NHL, it happens that the Cup winner does not get into the playoffs. Is this possible in the KHL, will we catch up with the NHL?

— We are catching up, each team is playing toe to toe. There are no obvious outsiders. Every team comes, wants to beat, show decent hockey. You will not be able to play at the expense of some regalia.

— Will CSKA make the playoffs?

— Absolutely. There is no doubts!
