CSKA - Spartak 2:1

CSKA against Spartak is a classic derby of russian hockey. It doesn't matter what places both teams occupy in the season standings, all games are very tense. Today's match was not an exception.

CSKA was slow from the start and couldn't do much in Spartak's zone. Red-white team had some chances to open score, but didn't use them properly. And soon Spartak was punished. CSKA Maxim Sorkin made a great assist on Brendan Leipsic, and former Capitals player scored - 1:0.

Spartak answered after the first break - Talaluyev scored from the close range. CSKA forwards continued struggling and made just 14 shots on goal during the whole game. Spartak produced good opportunities to take away the game, but CSKA defence was very solid. Two minutes before the end of the third period CSKA suddenly fired back. Spartak got one more chance to play in the power play, but after a turnover CSKA captain Sergei Andronov ran away from the opponents, laid the goalie down and sent puck in the net.

2:1 - very hard and very important win for CSKA.
