Head coach of CSKA HC Ilya Vorobyov commented on the game after the match in Vladivostok against Admiral, in which CSKA scored one point, losing 2-3 in overtime:
– A working game. There are a lot of struggles, dismissals, powerplays and short-handed play. Unfortunately, in the end, the scales did not tilt in our direction. We looked very decent in the first and third periods. In the second, we played short-handed for four minutes, we had overlapping changes, so this is the result.
– CSKA is the first team to use the powerplay in the league, Admiral is the third. Was the setup before the match to break the rules less, to play carefully? Because there were a lot of dismissals today.
– I agree, before each game it is said that you need to be dismissed less, but it does not always work out.
– What is the reason for the abundance of dismissals?
– A lot of fighting, a lot of tackles, the teams worked.
– In Moscow, in a recent meeting, your team confidently won, why didn't CSKA look so good today?
– Admiral played more solidly. We flew a little more. These are the main changes.
– At some point today, didn't it seem to you that most of the games could have been simpler?
– You're probably talking about five minutes of advantage, which we didn't use well. We didn't even go into the end very often. We will work on it.
