CSKA defender Egor Zamula answered journalists' questions after the match against the Torpedo.
– Winning never gets old. We’ve won two in a row, and we can really feel the confidence in ourselves and the team. The vibes have been great both before the game and right now. Right now, it's all about soaking it in and getting dialed in for every single game.
On my goal, Marat Khayrullin made a nice chip pass right to my stick, and Nikita Nesterov spotted me open. I just had to beat the defenseman. This one and the first goal were almost identical. We executed the game plan. The key was to avoid the defenseman’s shins, or else they’d have a counterattack. The boys grabbed the puck for me, I'm dedicating it to my parents.
It’s tough to tell if I’ve found my hockey legs in this new system yet. But I’m starting to find my legs. Today’s game wasn't my best. Gave up two goals while shorthanded and playing 6-on-5. Mistakes happen, but that's just part of being a defenseman. Sometimes you have to take risks, and sometimes you try to join the rush. The main thing is to learn from these mistakes and don't repeat them. They are breaking it all down for us. Healthy competition drives this team. We have a lot of solid defensemen, and we’re all pushing each other to elevate our game.
