Egor Afanasyev: Everyone was motivated to win, losing was no option

CSKA striker Egor Afanasyev summed up the winning match with Kunlun, in which he scored two assists.

- In the episode with the first goal, did you throw at the goal or were you looking for Denis Guryanov on the spot?

- Denis gave me a good pass, I tried to score. The defender stuck his stick in, I didn't really make the shot, and the puck bounced to Denis, he closed perfectly.

- You scored two goals in the last match, today you scored an assistant double. Do you feel that the game is getting better on the ice?

- Yes, I'm starting to feel the "chemistry" with my link partners, I am happy about it. We need to improve every day, in every game. It is clear that we will not always score two or three points per game, there are times when the link remains without points, but the main thing is a common victory. We are moving towards this goal.

- Despite the fact that Kunlun equalized in the end, the team was not discouraged and won overtime. How did you tune in?

- Everyone was motivated to win, losing was not an option. The bench was very calm, it was pleasing, everyone was thinking about a common goal.

- Was winning in overtime really important for the team?

- Yes, but every victory is important – in overtime, with a score of 7-0 or 1-0. At the end of the season, when it's time for the playoffs, all the points will be needed. No one will remember whether we won a particular match in overtime or not.
