- After the season I rested, healed all my aches and pains, and then our fitness coach (Dmitry Pirozhkov) sent me a program. I worked on it for a month and a half to get in good shape for the general training camp. I went out on ice three times a week and trained in the gym almost every day.
- How important for you to pass a medical examination before the start of the preparations for the season?
- Of course, it's important, it's my health. If you don't have it, you won't have everything else, so you should check it to make sure there won't be any critical situations during the season.
- Did you watch the Euros and the Stanley Cup during your vacation?
- I watched the Euros and the NHL games. They were interesting matches, especially the finals.
- Did the Russian national team’s performance surprise you?
- I can't say that it surprised me. Of course, I was rooting for Russia, but it happened as it happened. I do not like to criticize or discuss the team's performance. I just watch soccer.
- Is Italy the champion by right?
- In the first half, England was slightly better. But then Italy seized the initiative. But two worthy teams played and everything was decided in a penalty shoot-out, so, I think, by right.
- Which of these teams you supported?
- Just for the beautiful soccer played by very good teams.
- Tampa won the Stanley Cup. Did you get to watch the final series?
- It was a night game, so I watched the review. I think Tampa should have won from the beginning. They're a good team with a strong goaltender and fielders, so it's no surprise they took the trophy.
- Last season was a bumpy one for you due to your injury. What goals are you setting yourself for the new season?
- To help the team win the Gagarin Cup, of course. I will try to do my best. My personal achievements are of secondary importance. I understand I need to get better every year.
