18-year-old CSKA goalkeeper Pyotr Andreyanov spoke in an interview about training with the flagship team last season.
— How did you get called up to CSKA?
— They just texted me that tomorrow I had to warm up with the flagship team and dress as the second goalkeeper for the game. I was very surprised, but I quickly tuned in that I could make my debut in the KHL. The first minutes in the flagship team’s locker room put me in shock: when I tied my shoelaces, my hands were trembling. Ten minutes before the end of the period against Neftekhimik we were leading by four goals, and I was told to warm up. I was about to get on the ice, but they came back with two pucks back and so I was left on the bench. After the game, the goalkeeper coach said: “It’s okay, you still have everything ahead of you. Don't let it go to your head." I took the situation calmly and just keep on working.
— Did you get used to the flagship’s team training routine quickly?
— At my first goalie training session with CSKA, I got such a “spit” from Ruslan Iskhakov to the top corner that I was just motionless and could only follow his shot with my eyes. Then I got used to the shots, and it got much easier.
