Before the game there was a short ceremony dedicated to three CSKA young players who won silver medals at World U-20 Championship - Alexander Romanov, Nikita Rtishchev and Maxim Sorkin. Two of them got the chance to play while Romanov was injured.
CSKA took control quickly - on the first minute Kirill Kaprizov opened the score. After that guest team was able to make progress and had some chances to score especially in the second period. The greatest chance in the middle of the game when team captain Brandon Yip could finish the "2 on 1" play but he missed. Just few seconds were left in the second period when Kaprizov scored his second goal.
Early in the third Anton Slepyshev made his team's advantage bigger, and it was the final goal of the game.
