CSKA signed Yegor Sokolov to a one-year contract. Earlier, the army club received the rights to the forward within a trade with Avtomobilist.
The 25-year-old Sokolov started skating in Yekaterinburg, then played for Traktor Chelyabinsk at the junior and youth levels. He has played 13 NHL games in the North American leagues since the 2017/18 season. Egor played numerous games for the Russian national team in his age group and he became a silver medalist at the World Youth Championship in 2020.
