The roster of "Zvezda" – the second team within the franchise – saw some changes as four players left the club after their contracts expired: Roman Kalinichenko and Fedor Belyakov, defenders; Sergei Sulev and Semyon Pankratov, forwards. Three of them – Kalinichenko, Belyakov and Pankratov – have experience playing for the first team of CSKA; Pankratov won the Gagarin Cup twice with CSKA.
The fourth out by mutual agreement is the 23-year-old goalie Kirill Samsonov. He is the CSKA school trainee recognized as the best goalie of the season in the Youth Hockey League, and defended 40 games for "Zvezda" in the VHL (All-Russian Hockey League).
