Jokerit needs to improve situation in the season, so it's not surprising that team from Finland tried to play actively from the start. And they were lucky to open the score in power play. Alexander Popov responded and made it 1:1.
Just in the beginning of the second perios Jokerit was ahead again. Team's top scorer O'Neill made it 2:1. CSKA got angry and didn't give Jokerit any chance in the next few minutes. Army team scored thrice, and after the period score was 4:2.
But Jokerit had enough gas to come back. In the third period they scored two goals and made it to the overtime. CSKA was not demoralized and scored the gamewinner, taking the first win in 2021.
