Matvey Vasin shared his emotions from the debut, the atmosphere in the locker room and the victory over "Vityaz".
— This is a great experience, first of all, such a great responsibility. It was interesting to play at this level, yet it feels like there are still so many aspects where I should add and develop, but it was nice to make my debut.
— You have a hat-trick in the first home game of the VHL, now a goal in the first game of the KHL — is there a connection?
— I scored a hat-trick in the third game, everything was not so good there (laughs), but in general I try to play according to the coaching assignment, somewhere luck is on my side when such pucks fly in, it turns out to realize such moments. The main thing is to implement and be useful to the team
— How did you find out about the news that you will play in the main team, what did you feel, how did you prepare for the match?
— I found out the day before yesterday, they wrote me that tomorrow I would work on the first team's timetable. The first thing I began to worry, then decided that I would play minimally, less all sorts of action, played more simply, trying not to "mess up", and then as it would be.
— Did your older teammates tell you anything? Did they give you encouragement?
— Of course, I always think so, everywhere, in all teams. Today, there was support from the partners, they suggested somewhere, at some moments I maybe "messed up" on the ice today, the senior partner would always tell me. In my case: Tahir Mingachev suggested a lot, at some moments he explained that we should go out and work as a link more smoothly and confidently.
— Did you feel the difference between the KHL and the VHL?
— Of course, the level is much higher here, the players are of a higher level, you can no longer run recklessly "head-on", you will be beaten, they will pass to you, and you'll just lose your position for your partners and you'll be useless yourself.
— What is the atmosphere in the CSKA locker room?
— I think it's the same as in other teams. Everyone is set up and go out to play only to win
— Where do you keep your debut, winning pucks, and whom will you dedicate this first puck in the KHL to?
— I will dedicate the first puck to my grandfather, he visits all the matches, but unfortunately he could not come today, but I think he watched on TV, or maybe he opened the broadcast, I hope he watched it after all. I keep the pucks at home, I take them to my mother, she puts them in one place, in a secret place.
— You were recognized as the MVP in the locker room today, what are your emotions?
— I didn't expect it, I thought either Nikita Nesterov would get it, or Andrey Svetlakov, because they played a huge role in this victory, and my goal was a little funny. All the same, it's nice, great emotions, I'm sure I'll remember with warmth later.
