CSKA head coach Igor Nikitin summed up the game against the Spartak.
– Yes, that's what it was. Fouls and penalties ruined the whole game. It's pretty obvious.
– In the second half of the game, CSKA dominated, played well, but how to deal with these unnecessary penalties?
– If I had known, I would have already get rid of this situation. You need to have brains and character – that's all. There's no other way. Today our opponent didn't force us to do that. It's your own fault.
– Do you agree that in terms of the quality of the game, especially in the second period, when you forechecked Spartak, made and mirrored shifts, that this is the kind of game you are up to? Maybe this is one of the best games of the season for you?
– Now the guys have been told that the game consists of many components, all of which, without exception, can be critically important. We still lack the skill. Probably mastery in such a broad sense as to control all aspects of the game. Today we controlled only a part, we couldn’t control our discipline.
