Every day in the CSKA calendar is important. We remember the CSKA history and some interesting facts from January 19.

- On January 19, CSKA players took the leading roles in the national team. In 1956, our team had a wonderful last training before the Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The hosts - the Italians - were defeated with a 10:2 score in the Games host city. The hat trick was scored by the team captain Vsevolod Bobrov, with a goal scored by forward Yuri Pantyukhov and one by defenseman Ivan Tregubov, who had celebrated his 26th birthday.

- On that day in 1969, the Soviet team broke the home team resistance with a 4:2 score in the opening game of their Canadian tour. More than 15 thousand spectators in Toronto appreciated the game of the new line of Mikhailov, Petrov, and Kharlamov who scored two pucks. Kharlamov broke in play in the third period (2:2) and Petrov scored the winning goal.

- Exactly one year later, in Stockholm, Sweden took the lead with a 1:3 score in preparation for the World Cup in Czechoslovakia. Eight players of the winning CSKA team hit the ice. The winning goal was scored by CSKA MO forward Igor Dekonsky.   

- Spartak players suffered from CSKA sticks on January 19, 1974. In Luzhniki, our team defeated its most rivalry opponent with a 6:4 score thanks to the productive play of leaders Valeri Kharlamov (1 goal + 2 assists), Vladimir Petrov (1+1), his namesake Vikulov (1+1). A CSKA graduate Valentin Gureev scored a double for Spartak.

- On this day in 1979, the Moscow CSKA team, leading the national championship by a large margin, gained a difficult home victory over their Leningrad teammates with a 8:4 score. The winning goal was scored by Valeri Kharlamov, the team captain Boris Mikhailov scored twice. Special attention should be paid to the goal of 18-year-old Krutov, who evened the score (2:2). Just a year later he would dominate his first Olympics in Lake Placid.

- In Munich, the Red Machine, preparing for the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, easily defeated the West Germany national team with a 6:2 score. The centerman Vyacheslav Bykov hit the ice for the first time in the 35th minute. The CSKA player missed the traditional Izvestia Prize Tournament because of the accident happened to him after the control games in Sweden in the middle of December. Soon Bykov will have been declared banned from travelling abroad and will have not played in Sarajevo.

- On January 19, 1985, CSKA Team, Moscow, defeated Khimik in Voskresensk with a 7:1 score, in pursuit of thy Dynamo teammates broken away. It's not a surprise that experienced champions Vladimir Krutov and Vyacheslav Bykov each made doubles. Andrey Vinogradov, the graduate of Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve, who was only 16 years old at the time, scored two pucks and it was a surprise to the upside.

- This day in 1992, it was the premiere of our national team in the post-Soviet history. The combined team defeated the home team with a 7:2 score in Feldkirch, Austria. CSKA defenseman Vladimir Malakhov (a future member of the Triple Gold Club) capped the scoring, and the team was led onto the ice by CSKA captain Igor Kravchuk, who will have climbed the Olympic podium four times (two gold medals).

- Exactly one year ago, CSKA captain Sergei Andronov being shorthanded scored in the penultimate minute of the third period to earn a victory over Spartak with a 2:1 score at home.
