After a loss in the first game of the season CSKA managed to win five in a row and today had a chance to take the first place. But it was a hard task, because Metallurg is a very good team. Away team was first to get some scoring chances, but the score was opened by CSKA. Brendan Leipsic' shot was unexpected for Metallurg goalie Olkinuora, and Brendan got his first goal in KHL. He had a great opportunity to double the score in the second period, but now Olkinuora stopped Canadian forward. Metallurg played well and made many good shots, but CSKA goalie Alexander Scharychenkov didn't make mistakes.

Before the third period score was just 1:0, but then the game changed completely. Metallurg scored in a power play, but 35 seconds later Pavel Karnaukhov again gave his team a lead - 2:1. Metallurg continued to attack and was successfull scoring three times in three minutes, the last one in a power play again. CSKA couldn't come back after this and lost - 2:4.
